RWDSU Local 3 Bloomingdale’s Workers Deliver This Holiday Season

As shoppers head to Bloomingdale’s this holiday season, it was RWDSU Local 3 members who kept the sales floors running, customers supported, and the store thriving during one of the busiest times of the year.

Throughout weeks of long hours, high customer volume, and holiday sales issues, Local 3 members met – and exceeded – sales quotas across departments, helping Bloomingdale’s achieve a successful holiday shopping season. From early-morning openings to late-night closings, Local 3 union members brought professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to every shift, ensuring customers received the high level of service the iconic retailer is known for.

“This season was intense, but our members showed up for each other and for the customers every single day,” said Shaun Kavanaugh, President of RWDSU Local 3. “Their hard work directly contributed to strong sales, a smooth holiday experience for shoppers and most importantly solidarity and support for each other throughout the season.”

To recognize that commitment, RWDSU Local 3 hosted an end-of-year celebration honoring members for their outstanding work. The gathering gave workers a chance to relax, connect with coworkers, and celebrate the success they achieved together after a demanding season.

“RWDSU Local 3 members showed incredible dedication this holiday season. Their hard work not only helped Bloomingdale’s meet its goals, but also demonstrated the power of solidarity and teamwork,” said James Eisenberg, Secretary-Treasurer of RWDSU Local 3. “When union members are respected and supported, it benefits everyone – workers, customers, and the community alike.”

The holiday rush underscored what RWDSU has long known: union workers are the backbone of retail success. When workers are respected, supported, and united, it shows in strong performance, satisfied customers, and a union workplace rooted in solidarity.

As the new year begins, RWDSU Local 3 is proud to stand with Bloomingdale’s workers and looks forward to continuing the fight for fairness, dignity, and recognition on the job not just during the holidays, but all year long.
