As September began, RWDSU Local 1102 members working in food service returned from a well-deserved summer break to greet students heading back to classrooms across districts, high schools, and universities. To mark the start of the new academic year, Local 1102 hosted Welcome Back Meetings with members on campuses. These gatherings provided an important space to reconnect, share updates, and highlight the essential work members do each day. They also offered the opportunity to review new benefits, answer questions, and ensure the year began on a strong note.
RWDSU Local 1102 members at NYU Dental, food service workers employed by Compass Group, have successfully negotiated and ratified a new union contract that delivers substantial wage increases, enhanced contributions to the Medical Fund, and a range of critical workplace improvements. These workers support the NYU campus community every day, and this agreement is a major step forward in recognizing their skill, commitment, and value.
Members of RWDSU Local 93 have won a strong new three-year collective bargaining agreement with Continental Food Service – a contract that delivers meaningful economic gains and important workplace improvements for workers in Lansing, Michigan.
RWDSU members in Attleboro, Massachusetts, help keep the school system clean so kids can have the best learning environment possible. Local 875 members there perform maintenance in the school system, and now they’ll do it with a new four-year contact with increased wages, 100 percent union insurance, plus longevity bonuses. In addition, members will see an increase in their 401K benefits…
