Today, New York City Mayor Eric Adams welcomed Amazon to New York City at the ribbon cutting of their new flagship offices, stating the company is “delivering good jobs to New Yorkers.” Stuart Appelbaum, President of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU) issued the following statement in response: “Amazon is not delivering good jobs for New Yorkers – period.”

“The RWDSU joins Governor Kathy Hochul in calling for federal assistance so we can better support migrant workers arriving here in New York. On August 15, 2023, RWDSU Local 379 members at Aramark Columbus ratified a new three-year agreement. They saw some of the largest wage increases they have ever had, in addition to maintaining their union pension and union health insurance. Congratulations to Aramark Columbus workers!
