Marching up 5th Avenue: RWDSU in the 2025 NYC Labor Day Parade
On September 6, RWDSU members and leaders proudly joined over 95,000 union members in the streets of New York City for the annual Labor Parade. Each year, the parade is a powerful reminder of the strength and solidarity of the labor movement, and 2025 was no exception.
RWDSU members from across our area locals marched together behind our banner, showing the diversity and unity that make our union strong. From longtime members to new organizing victories, the parade highlighted the workers who keep our city running every day.
Labor Day is more than a holiday, it’s a celebration of the hard-fought rights workers have won and a call to action for the battles still ahead. As we marched up Fifth Avenue, chants of “Union Strong!” echoed through the streets, honoring the generations of workers who came before us and inspiring those still fighting for fair wages, safe workplaces, and dignity on the job.
This year’s parade theme, “Power in Unity,” reflected exactly what RWDSU stands for. Our power comes from standing shoulder to shoulder with workers across New York and across the country.
We are proud to have been part of this historic tradition, and we’ll carry the energy of the parade into the fights ahead, for fair contracts, new organizing campaigns, and a stronger labor movement.
Solidarity forever!
