After five months of intensive negotiations, members of RWDSU Local 1102 have overwhelmingly ratified a landmark three-year agreement with retail giant H&M. This victory, affecting more than 1,000 workers, marks a significant turning point for retail labor standards across the country.
RWDSU Local 1102 was proud to support Toys for Tots this holiday season with a donation that helped bring smiles to children and families across our community. Through the holiday drive, members had the opportunity to participate by dropping off toys at several RWDSU Local 1102 members’ shops, making it easy for working families to give back during a busy time of year.
RWDSU Local 1102 brought together stewards from across industries for two-days of intermediate and advanced training, which was the first time members from so many different workplaces gathered for a joint event focused on education, empowerment, and solidarity. The event was held in a Local 1102 organized hotel as well, supporting our own while coming together.
As September began, RWDSU Local 1102 members working in food service returned from a well-deserved summer break to greet students heading back to classrooms across districts, high schools, and universities. To mark the start of the new academic year, Local 1102 hosted Welcome Back Meetings with members on campuses. These gatherings provided an important space to reconnect, share updates, and highlight the essential work members do each day. They also offered the opportunity to review new benefits, answer questions, and ensure the year began on a strong note.
