On September 6, RWDSU members and leaders proudly joined tens of thousands of union members in the streets of New York City for the annual Labor Parade. Each year, the parade is a powerful reminder of the strength and solidarity of the labor movement, and 2025 was no exception.
RWDSU Local 1102 has long stood for improving the lives of its members on the job and in their communities. That commitment was on full display this year as the union celebrated the achievements of its Paulette Fialkoff-Amodeo Scholarship recipients. These awards highlight not only the hard work and aspirations of Local 1102 members and their families but also the union’s belief in investing in the future.
When the dedicated staff at Diversicare Pell City in Alabama joined the RWDSU Mid‑South Council earlier this year, they knew they were taking a bold step into the fight for justice and recognition. What they didn’t know yet was that milestone would soon become a contract victory defined by dignity, fairness, and real value.
On June 11, 2025, workers at Gotham Dispensary in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, voted overwhelmingly in a decisive 18-3 union election to join Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW, marking another milestone in the fight for dignity and fairness in the cannabis industry.
