The member-led bargaining team, helmed by Local 93 President Lou Gamelin – a full-time Coca-Cola driver – along with longtime members and union stewards Tomika Williams and Sharon Roberts, brought decades of union experience and dedication to the table. Both Williams and Roberts have been proud RWDSU members for over twenty years, and their commitment to securing a better future for their coworkers showed throughout the process.

Among the contract highlights:

  • The addition of Juneteenth as a paid holiday — honoring a vital moment in American and labor history, and a holiday we’ll be commemorating later this month through our longstanding civil rights history.

  • Time-and-a-half pay after eight hours — recognizing the real value of overtime labor.

  • 6% wage increases each year of the contract — helping workers keep pace with the cost of living.

  • No increases in employee health care costs, ensuring continued affordable access to benefits.

  • Increased sick and accident pay — from $300 to $500 per week, giving members greater support when they need it most.

  • Critical updates to contract language — including non-economic language improvements that strengthen union rights and clarity.

“This is a contract we’re proud of,” said Local 93 President Lou Gamelin. “We pushed hard for what our members needed and deserved, and we walked away with a deal that reflects the strength and unity of our union.”

With this agreement, RWDSU Local 93 has once again demonstrated the power of solidarity at the bargaining table. It’s proof that when workers stand together, we win.
